Countryside Site
Our Countryside program is housed within the Countryside School at 191 Dedham Street in Newton. Students come directly from Countryside School to aftercare and enjoy several activities. Students in grades K-5 participate in Runner’s Club, STEM Projects, Fine Arts, Crafts, Indoor and Outdoor Activities, Homework Club, and Free Choice, among other activities.
Countryside Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday Schedule
2:50 - 3:10 | Check- In & Snack
Check-In: CCC staff pick up Kindergarten children from their classrooms and escort them to our room. Children in Grades 1-5 walk independently to the gym, where CCC staff check them in.
Snack: Children are divided into three age-specific rooms: K-2, 3, and 4/5. They will have a snack in these rooms and socialize with their peers.
3:10 - 4:00 | Homework & FreeChoice
After completing their homework, children can choose from a variety of activities. They can play in the gym, spend time outside or on the playground, or explore activities in our room, including art, games, and building toys like LEGO, Magna-Tiles, and STEM materials.
4:00 - 4:45 | Meeting, Choice Activities & K-Block
Children gather in the gym for a daily meeting, where they are introduced to the day's activity options. These may include gym or outdoor actives, STEAM projects, arts and crafts, music, and much more. Kindergarteners will also explore a monthly theme, which may include topics such as the rainforest, geography, oceans, space, and various modes of transportation like trains, planes, and automobiles.
4:45 - 5:30 | Free Choice
Children can choose from a variety of activities. They can play in the gym, spend time outside or on the playground, or explore activities in our room, including art, games, and building toys like LEGO, Magna-Tiles, and STEM materials.
Children in grades 4 and 5, known as our "Older Kids," have a separate space from the K-3 group. This allows them to socialize and participate in their own unique games and activities.
5:30 - 5:45 | Mini Choices
Children can choose from mini-activities, including literacy, gym activities, and literacy games.
5:45-6:00 Pick-Up
All remaining children will collect their belongings and wait in the foyer with CCC staff for pick-up.
